Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department helicopter crashed in the Angeles National Forest. The helicopter was responding to a car rollover accident in the forest. Those on board included 5 deputies and a UCLA doctor.
At approximately 5 p.m. PST, the helicopter fell 200 feet leading to the injury of the 6 passengers. All passengers were airlifted to Pomona Valley Medical Center. The pilot is in critical condition while others sustained mild to moderate injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash as it is still unknown whether the crash was caused by mechanical or environmental issues.
